Dry Eyes???????

I have been having pain in my eyes lately. I have seen optemetrist and pressure in my eyes is normal. He put this dye in my eyes and said I had slight dry eye but he also said it souldn't really cause me pain.

Sometimes my eye will itch real bad for a few minutes and other times I will get these pains in various places on my eye. Sometimes I get a slight headache but both onl last a few seconds.

Right now my eye feel as if they are burning a little when I blink, but the other eye is watering. Both eyes have the pain but currently the watery eye isn't.

Very strange. I feel that using my computer (as I am a web developer) often makes things worse. When I wasn't using it I hardley had the pain.

I do wear glasses when using a computer or watching TV but don't wear them often.

Any help for dry eyes? Do you find drops or sprays work?

  1. I have this problem too (fellow web developer) and I've found it to be related most strongly to two factors:

    1) Tiredness - Being sleepy causes my eyes to dry out, become red, itchy, and unpleasant.

    2) Air humidity - Having my window fan on seems to dry out the room, and this really exacerbates my dry eyes. I've tried using a humidifier in the room with great success.

In any case, I find that not wearing glasses (if you are nearsighted) helps ease computer use greatly. Eye drops provide temporary relief, but I've found that solving the 2 problems above is a better cure.

It's also possible that you are having some sort of allergic reaction to pollen or something of the like if your symptoms have only developed recently.

  2. get clear eyes eye drops, just go to walmart and look for them by the pharmacy

  3. I too have problems sometimes with dry eyes and i use Optive Lubricant Eye Drops and it works very well. As far as the pain in various places on the eye i would get that checked out ASAP.

    Hope I've Helped

  4. Hayfever maybe? try eyes drops

  5. Try hypromellose drops, you'll need to ask your pharmacist but they work much better than the comfort drops you can get.
