  1. Does the primer bulb get hard when you pump it up?

    All three bowls empty?

Carb bowl completely empty, then the engine has died before you shut it off.  It can't run with empty carb bowls -- okay, I guess #3 can keep going after #1 & #2 run dry.

Change the fuel fittings at both the tank end and engine end.  Make sure the tank vent is open and clear.

When the engine starts to die out, start pumping the primer bulb.  If it collapses (won't open back up) while the engine's running, then you've got a restriction upstream of the bulb, or else the tank vent is closed or blocked.

If pumping the bulb makes the engine run better, then you know it's the pump.

Take the pump apart & compare the parts to the kits on this page:

My 1979 fuel pump is also "not serviceable" but a sierra rebuild kit from an earlier year fit it perfectly.

  2. You definitely have a worn out fuel pump and need to replace

it.I am positive that you can buy a diaphragm repair kit for your evinrude from C C Marine.Google either C C Marine or Sierra and you should find it.Good luck.

  3. With all you have done, the fuel pump is most likely, but another item to check is the fuel line in the tank itself, there is a small screen filter on many of those systems that get clogged and varnished over the years. This is cheaper than a fuel pump.

  4. if youve cleaned the carb and all the lines, I cant imagine it being anything other than the fuel pump. since it isnt serviceable, that could be a problem
