I am a French national living in the UK and I am expecting my first child in November. My partner is English. (We are not married.) I will give birth here, in the UK.

Will my child be English, French, or will he have dual nationality? Thanks for your answers! :-)

  1. He will be English. If your staying you should also become English. You cannot serve 2 country's.Duel nationality should be

made illegal.Have a trouble free birth and healthy baby.

  2. If your child is born in the UK, then ur child will be given UK citizenship as the father is a UK citizen. What you can do to give your child a French citizenship too, is to take the birth certificate of ur child to the French embassy in UK and apply for citizenship. Your child will then have dual citizenship. I did that too as my husband is French and i'm singaporean and we live in singapore. Good Luck :)
