Dust and Dead Skin??

In an Unoccupied house, there is a lot of dust!

How, if most of dust is dead skin, is there dust in a house where nobody lives?

  1. Did someone live there before.  Is the furnace running or is the blower on?  Most of the dust and dead skin is in the furnace pipes.  The registers and cold air returns are famous for being filled with it.  You might consider having them cleaned out if you plan on living there.


  2. It's not just the dead skin of humans, its from animals, birds etc. This will be getting in through doors, windows, cracks, through floor boards etc.
