Dynamat installed, trunk problems?

I am probably just an idiot and don't tell me if I am be polite. I just installed dynamat into my trunk everywhere and it is incredible. I love the sound quality and bass response I got after listening to before and after system tries. But I do have a large problem. I shut my trunk lid and the d**n thing won't open. Please let me know what I did.

The process went as follows:

Cleaned metal surface with tri sulfuric phosphate I believe it's called

Cut where needed to fit on trunk.

Put on Dynamat Xtreme very tightly inside trunk.

Heated with blow dryer for 1 minute about on each sheet and rolled on the Dynamat for better fit and stick.

Let cool and closed trunk. Now it won't open.

I'm worried that the dynamat poxyed onto the latch and acted as a cement towards the trunk opening. If that's not the case then what the heck is wrong?

  1. wow i dont think ive ever heard that before

  2. Thing is only you know how close you laid the dynamat to the latch.  If you believe the placement of the dynamat was to close and it caused the trunk to seal closed, that's probably the case.  Wishing you the best of luck in undoing it...if your rear seats fold down, you might want to look at it all from the inside and see if you can fix the problem from there.
