Blackpool
Black pool players paid a tribute to the youth team coach Gary Parkinson, who has been admitted in hospital after suffering a stroke last week. Players displayed a t-shirt with Gary Parkinson’s name on it. On Friday, Blackpool’s boss Ian Holloway met with
the youth team coach’s wife Debbie and stressed that the club would offer every kind of support to the Parkinson family.
Holloway admired the strength of Gary Parkinson’s wife. Holloway said, "As long as there is a hope that someone can come back, then hopefully, Gary can, but it is a shock to everyone, with him only being 42”.
Holloway said that a club is like a family and his players are well aware of the truth that family always comes first. Blackpool boss also added that his players would play the way Gary would always wanted them. On the other side, Gary conveyed his message
through his wife that he is very proud of the way Blackpool is playing football and he hopes to see his team perform well in the future.
Blackpool performed very well against the newly crowned champions of Barclays English Premier League Chelsea. The very attacking Chelsea side failed to score in the first half of the match. The legendary Coach Carlo Ancelloti also admired the way Blackpool
defended against Chelsea. Moreover, currently the newly promoted Blackpool is on the ninth position shockingly above the top sides of the Premier League
Bolton Wanderers
Expectations were high from the Bolton Wanderers captain Kevin Davies to win at Villa Park against Aston Villa. The win against the Aston Villa would have lifted Bolton Wanderers to fifth in the English Premier League table. But Bolton Wanderers failed to
win the match.
Skipper Kevin Davies shook off the effects of concussion sustained in last weekend's 4-1 defeat at Arsenal to play and score in the 1-1 draw at Villa Park. Davies said: "I've mixed emotions because I'm pleased with a point because we don't normally get anything
here, but also disappointed we've not won”. Davies also admired the way his team played by calling it outstanding. He also said that his team were lacking a bit of belief and he also accepted that Bolton fans were not happy with the overall team performance.
Kevin Davies was happy with a point and currently Bolton is on twelfth position with six points to their name.
Chelsea
Chelsea’s young striker Daniel Sturridge has lifted the lid on his personal hurt after battling to combat accusations that he was arrogant during his first few months at Stamford Bridge. The 21-year-old striker left Manchester City in July 2009 and joined
Chelsea on a four-year contract for an initial tribunal fee of £3.5m. Daniel Sturridge found it very difficult to break in to the starting eleven and suffered in silence as he was labelled arrogant by his critics after leaving Manchester City for Chelsea."I
had some negative things around me when I joined the club", said Sturridge.
The young striker admitted that it was hard for him to handle the hard times because he did not had his family around him. He said that it was a very hard time in his life and in career. He said that he was hurt a lot when some people accused him of being
an arrogant person. He was also accused of not working with the team. He rubbished all the rumours and said "Never in my life have I been an arrogant guy and it was very hurtful to hear people say things like that about me because I know I am not that type
of person”.
