  1. hi there, my brother did a blood drive ( i suggested it) and it went really well, the only thing is that you need about 30 or 40 people who are willing to donate blood.

Anything that helps out your community can be an eagle scout project

"Trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, curtious, kind, obedient, cheerful, thifty, brave, clean and reverent" :)

  2. Our oldest son built a dock for public access to a local lake and our youngest built nesting boxes for wood ducks and placed them at a lake where the population of ducks had declined.

Primarily you should choose something that interests you. You could interview your school's principal as he/she might have some needs around your school. If you are in a church maybe speak to the deacons board about doing something to improve the facility (new sign, lighting, flower bed, picnic table, basketball court).

If you are interested in science then a recylcing project for cell phones or other electronics might be great. You could run a big pasta feed where people would bring cd's, magazines, snacks etc to send to the troops. Maybe there is even a former Eagle Scout from your area serving in Iraq.

Well, I could go on and on. Congratulations on making Life and working on your Eagle. Make sure you buy your mom an Eagle Scout necklace when you have your ceremony...she'll be surprised and she will love it!!!

  3. Here are some of the projects that our Eagles did:

one designed and poured a sidewalk at a local Masonic temple through a wet, soggy area of their lawn.  The troop and the Masons have worked closely together on several projects, so this was a great way to continue that relationship.

One designed, fundraised, and built a handicap-accessable fishing platform on a local river.

Two built small pavilions in area parks.  One was a little onerous, as the zoning rules had recently been changed, and he had to get an architect to design the pavilion.  He got lucky and found one that had been a scout, and he donated his time.

One built a shelving and storage system at a local homeless shelter, so that they could organize their collection of clothes, hats, gloves, and other donated items.

One collected stuffed animals that went to the local sheriff's department.  When the deputies had to transport a small child - say one whose parents had been in a car accident - they gave the kids a toy.  It helps the kid deal with the stress.

Hopefully this will give you some ideas.
