East coast surfing..?

i live in statesboro, Ga; not too far from savannah/tybee island. the only surf i ever see on tybee is in hurricane season. My question is: where can i get any good surf in the southeast without having to dodge storms?

Of course, head down to Sebastian Inlet in Sunny Central Florida, or up to Outer Banks in NC for some of the best waves on the East Coast. Both of these places get very BIG during hurricane season. They both often get hit by storms. If you are trying to avoid them, just go on a calm day.
