Easy 10 pts...quick fitness questions?

Okay my family just got a treadmill yesterday. I usually run outside for 45 minutes at a pace around 7 MPH with hills. However, I prefer to use the treadmill so I can watch the morning news at the same time. I hate just doing a straight run on the treadmill so I have this workout done at a 1% incline the entire time:

10 minutes at 5MPH

20 seconds at 7.5 MPH

1 minute at 5 MPH

20 seconds at 7.5 MPH

1 minute at 5MPH

20 seconds at 7.5 MPH

4 minutes at 5 MPH

10 minutes at 6.5 MPH

Then three times through:

4 minutes at 5 MPH

4 minutes at 6.5 MPH

The last thing is 5 minutes at 5 MPH and I increase the incline by .5% every 30 seconds.

Will that burn as many calories as my original run?

Also, the treadmill is set to calculate calories based on a 180 pound man. I am 110 pounds and I am a female. How can I convert these?

  3. Sprints are an excellent way to burn calories and to raise your metabolism.  As long as your pushing yourself hard for those 20 sec intervals you are gonna burn extra calories much better than jogging.  But you may not be pushing yourself hard enough since your running at 7mph for 45 min outside.  Also a 1-1.5% incline on a treadmill is a close equivalent to outside terrain.
