-3(x+5)=3(x-1)

3(a+1)-5=3a-2

5(f+2)=2(3-f)

5(p+3)+9=3(p-2)

1.2(x-2)=2-x

i know i have to distribute like terms then do the opposite operation but then i forget what to do

  1. -3(x+5)=3(x-1)

    -3x-15=3x-3

    6x-3=-15

    6x=-12

    x=-2

    3(a+1)-5=3a-2

    3a+3-5=3a-2

    -2=-2

    a=infinite number of solutions

    5(f+2)=2(3-f)

    5f+10=6-2f

    7f+10=6

    7f=-4

    f=-4/7

    5(p+3)+9=3(p-2)

    5p+15+9=3p-6

    2p+24=-6

    2p=-30

    p=-15

    1.2(x-2)=2-x

    1.2x-2.4=2-x

    2.2x-2.4=2

    2.2x=4.4

    x=2

  2. -3x-15=3x-3

    -3x-3x=-3-15

    -9x=-18

    x= 2

    Basically what you do is bring the x's to one side, and the numbers to the other and divide the number by the amount of x's

    3a+3-5=3a-2

    3a-2=3a-2              <--- With this problem, the answer cant be                                divisible by 0

    3a-3a=-2+2

    0a=0

  3. for the first one you distribute the terms the equation becomes

    -3x-15 = 3x-3

    you add three to both sides to get one of the x's by itself

    -3x-12 = 3x

    you then add 3x to both sides to get both x's on one side

    -12 = 6x

    you dive by 6 to solve for x

    x= -2

    the rest can be solved the same way
