Easyjet from London to Amsterdam?

Whats the catch? Why is it so cheap? Do they drop me off at some random airport hours away from Amsterdam or do they have some major baggage restriction I should know about before I book the flight?

I have used EasyJet between London and Amsterdam several times.

You can choose which London airport, (choice of three) and you will land at Schiphol, Amsterdam airport. No problems in that respect.

The tickets start from the given price, you will have to look well on the site to really get tickets for that price, but at times I have seen tickets for 1 pound plus taxes, coming to less than 20 pounds at that time.

For that price you had to be at the Stanstead airport around 4 AM, not the first choice of most people.

At this time the cheapest option seem to be Tuesday mornings, from Luton, flying at 6AM, so you will have to be there 5 AM latest.

Booking early mostly gives the cheapest price, but sometimes they will sell seats in unpopular flights for even less a couple of weeks later.

To get the best price use the 'flexible on date' option and just look at those flights that are cheaper to see if they fit you.

There are some, rather hidden, extra costs.

They now charge an 'checked luggage' charge and while you should be able to travel with hand luggage only, a friend of mine found it impossible to get that booked.

You will be invited to pay extra for early boarding, for flexible date options, for travel insurance and so on.

And there will be a charge if you pay by credit card and when you pay by phone in for your ticket.

I think the only way not to pay that charge is when you have an UK bank link card, but I am not sure about that.

But overall, I think it is still a good airline if you want to travel London-Amsterdam.

Amsterdam has only one airport: Schiphol, so don't worry about that. At Easyjet not all seats are the same price. The first are cheaper. And in their advertisements they not always add the obligatory taxes to the prize offered.
