Question:

Eating Out fast food?

Im doing alot of traveling with school this week and three days im eating the food court at malls and then one night pizza and another lunch at these restaraunts choices-- wendys, some chinease place, subway, and some pizza place. what are some good healthy choices i can make this week. cause i really am not looking forward to eating a bunch of c**p 4 days ina row.

  1. Try sandwiches, soups, or pastas.  I like vegie burgers as well or falafel.  Our favourite "fast food" is sushi as it is healthy, filling and there are so many different kinds to try!


  2. Roast pork fried rice and fry chicken wings.   I can eat that everyday.

  3. They all should have some type of salad  or fruit because of the obesity problem especially among younger kids and teens.

  4. order water instead of soda most of the time (if you want to drink a soda, order a small one and fill it up only once), salads are a good bet, just be easy on the dressing, chicken nuggets, sandwhiches (ask them to hold the mayo, this can save you up to 200 calories).  At Wendy's they have baked potatoes and side salads for only a buck.  Be aware of starchy foods like pasta (unless it's whole grain) and potatoes.  It's okay to treat yourself once in a while, just don't go overboard.

  6. For pizza - go for veggie toppings and thin crust. Extra tomato sauce for dipping is also healthy and fills you up

    A grilled chicken sandwich without mayo (put mustard on it instead) is always a good choice as well. Get a side salad instead of fries. Wendy's chili is also not that bad for you and is pretty tasty.

    Subway - you are good to go with their low fat sandwich menu. Just get wheat bread and either the apple slices or baked chips instead of regular.

    Chinese food - chicken and broccoli - or get the steamed vegetables instead of the rice and noodles along with the mandarin chicken.  The key is to get a meat that doesn't look like it's covered in goop.

  13. Maybe you could pack a quick and easy packed lunch? E.g pasta (10 mins to prepare) let cool and chuck in some dolphin friendly tuna and co -op salad cream. MMMmmm....

    OR, isn't subway quite healthy? Get good healthy bread, lots of salad, and a diet drink or water.
