I might get something on Ebay. When I enter my credit card and enter it, how does the person know I got it, and couldn't he steal my credit card number?

  1. Hi

I would also advise that you open a paypal account - it's free to open one.

Never click on a link in an email to access your paypal accout - always, always, go to the site yourself as there are a lot of phishing emails regarding ebay and paypal, amongst others.

The other thing to watch for is to make sure it's a secure site when making your payment. The url will start with https:// and there will be a small gold padlock showing.

    Best wishes

    Mary

  2. You need a PayPal account, you register your credit card with them.  When you make the payment, your PP account will pull the payment from your CC, the seller never sees your credit card.  Perfectly safe.

    Good luck on your auction.

  3. If you enter your credit card number thru PayPal or a credit card processor, the seller never sees that information. It is no different than buying something from a regular on line merchant.I would never just email or call in the credit card number in to the seller

  4. You pay it through paypal account, or you can buy from craigslist garage sale which you pay cash
