Ebay shipping question

Question

I shipped an item at a UPS store, how does the buyer get notified that an item has been shipped? I changed my shipping icon to "Shipped" and added a tracking number, so will the buyer get a notification? Am I supposed to email the buyer telling them I have shipped the item? And also for the item that I shipped, I requested that a signature be required, is that ok?

If you want to provide a better service to the buyer you should send them an email saying item has already be sent, and let them know the tracking.

If you got the payment via paypal, you should also add the tracking within paypal, paypal will email buyer the tracking saying that you have provide an update on that transaction.
