Question:

Economics modules at college?

I'm entering another year of economics in college, and have to choose between two optional modules: one deals with mathematics as applied to economics (things like differentiation, probability, regression analysis, etc.), or a module that involves no maths but rather deals with critical thinking (e.g. reading economics books or articles which deal with debatable issues and writing book reviews, summaries, essays, reports, etc.) Basically that module works on how to make an argument and think critically.

Which would be a better choice? Also, I do plan to study economics at Masters level eventually, so from that perspective which is more valuable?

Serious answers please, and I would prefer to hear from people who are either studying economics or who have graduated and are now working in the field. Thank you.

  1. Ive heard that if you want to pursue a masters or PhD in economics then you should take a lot of math in college. So i guess itll be best to take the math course
