Can anyone recommend easy to use program compatible with windows xp for editing home movies. Nothing too complicated.

  1. You don't mention cost but, assuming that funds are limited you could do worst that look at Pinnacle Studio 12.

    A reasonably powerful program with a reputation for being easy to use.

    Have a look at the link to Pinnacle and see if this is the sort of thing you are looking for.

  2. Assuming WMM doesn't do it for you, have a look at AVS Video Editor.  Too complicated is subjective - Pinnacle Studio starts easy but gets difficult if you want to do anything more than the basics.  It's also very buggy and unstable.

  3. You could just use the basic windows movie maker program, which should be on your computer already, it's probably one of the easiest to use, and fairly basic. You should be able to grasp the concept of it fairly easy.
