Electric scooters query?

If an electric scooters whose average is 70km per charge Will run for 23 days if I travel 3km daily or I will have to charge daily/alternative day or alternative two days. I am planning to buy an electric scooters and my daily travel is 3-4 km. pl also advise anything extra about electric scooters and if u own a one, share ur experience. Thanks

Well, if you get 70km per charge and travel 3km a day.... 70 / 3 = 23.33

So one charge will last you approx 23 days. Best to charge after about 20 though.

I don't own an electric scooter, I did consider it but they are too slow for my liking. If you're only traveling about 3km a day though, they're perfect.

For maximum battery life, charge your batteries after every use.  

That 70km range is the range under the absolute best conditions, low speed, no hills, light load, tail wind, no stop and go.

Most scooters have Sealed lead acid (SLA) batteries;

keep them charged and keep them cool, under 90F, best  about 65F.

Idle Batteries get discharged mainly because the scooter does not turn all the way off, like your TV with a remote does not turn completely off.

If your Scooter turns all the way off,  the it should be ok  for a week of not riding. But if it does not turn  off, then it will need to have its batteries topped off.

When you get the scooter, charge the battery completely after riding (until the charger light goes green)  and let it set turned off for 24 hours.  then put the charger back on the battery and time  how long for the charger to "go green". If it is less than two seconds, you are fine.  

If much more, then you would need to "top off the charge" before riding after a long rest.

If storing unused for long periods, remove the batteries.

The best thing to do with these is to just top up the battery to max. whenever you use it, then you will not be worried about what range you have left in the battery.

No, a scooter won't be able to hold its charge perfectly over 23 days.  It will gradually lose some of the charge over time even if you don't ride it.

Additionally, the more charged you keep the batteries, the longer they'll last.  Lead acid batteries in particular have a 'memory' so the less they remain charged up, the sooner they lose their capacity.
