Can someone tell me about those new electronic cars send to Long Island from China? I saw it in the news and never had time to read it...

You should be aware that when electric cars become sufficiently popular, they will no longer cost twenty cents to recharge.  Electric cars require roads, and these are not free.  They're paid for by taxes on gasoline, at present; electric power doesn't have road taxes.  But at the point where it becomes necessary, we'll be installing either an energy monitor or an odometer that'll talk to transponders set up by the various state highway departments, and they'll send you a bill.  Failure to pay will result in someone paying you a visit to remove your license plates, or the entire vehicle.

The batteries still have problems which limit range.
