how do i train my cats to a cat flap?emergency.going on holiday tomorrow

Put something like tuna or something they like on the other side of the door, and put them near the door.  That's my only advice.

By "cat flap" I presume you mean a cat door.  If so, they will find it and use it on their own - they are curious about stuff like that.

On the same subject, are you certain that other unwanted animals will not use it to enter your home?

I would not recommend this.  what would happen if your cat got out and got attacked and killed or anything like that while you were gone.  keep your cat inside and have someone come in once or twice a day to check on him/her

I train my animals lot's of things.  First, I would place them near the door, if they smell it or look curious, that's a good thing.  Try moving the flap back and forth and saying "Go in" or something.  That's  how all my animals learn!

Just make sure that other unwanted animals can't get in using it!

Physically push them through both ways they will soon learn. That what I've done with all my cats. Works.

Ok I THINK you mean a cat door.

put the cat on one side and hold something they REALLY LOVE... like tuna or other treat on the other side with the door open ... keep doing it from the other side with the door less open.

or you can just push the cat through... one way then the other...

your cat will get mad at you for not allowing it to do it's own thing.

but keep trying.
