if youre in a car accident and pronounced dead are officers allowed to pick up ur phone and tell people ???that areent even family.

if they are listed in your "ice" in case of emergency, list on  your phone they can.

They may use your cell phone to try and identify you if you aren't in posession of ID they can verify.

First responders to an accident may try to ID someone through his/her cell phone if the person isn't carrying any form of ID at the time.  They will look for your "ICE" number or may call someone else (maybe if you have "Mom" listed, for example), but my guess is that the officers would NOT say "Your son/daughter is dead."  They don't want to have whoever they're telling be so shocked.  They'll probably say, "There's been an accident involving your on.  We're sending an officer to pick you up..."
