Explain how renewable and nonrenewable sources supply energy. Provide specific examples

Its a question for science and I've done all 20 of them except this one. What would be the specific examples?

  1. all energy is renewable.  but oil or coal is considered a non-renewable becuase it takes millions of years for vegetable/animal matter to be compressed into a fossil fuel

    All energy comes from the sun.  energy sources that can be harvested quickly like solar, wind, and hydro are considered renewable.  Biomass is taking vegetable matter and burning it and the replanting it.  Switchgrass for example is sometimes grown and harvested and burned with coal.  or sometimes vegetation/animal waste is left to rot and the gas is collected and burned.
