My fianice bought me an engagement ring at zales it was a 3/4 carat 14 kt white gold color E clarity I1, good cut, for the price of $1110.69. Does that sound like a reasonable price for this ring that we got? Does that sound like a good quality ring?

  1. you should be contented with what you have girl... its a bling bling ring.. what else do you want? what else can you ask for? if you dont want it give it to me...

  2. I dont think the price or quality should matter. He loves you and he gave that to you to show you that he loves you and that he wants to be with you.

  3. That sounds beautiful! I know a little bit about diamonds, and that sounds like a good price. I love white gold too, i think its understated, classic and elegant. You'll love that ring forever! You must be thrilled! Congratulations!

  4. Its a reasonable price for the diamond,It has a good carat weight and a very good colour. But am afraid the clarity is very low and you might be able to see some inclusions by the naked eye.If it does not have a certificate then the grades could be even lower than that.Thats quality and price wise but I totally agree with Jennifer d.

  5. This should be the last thing you are worried about. 1100.00 is a LOT of money nowadays. The quality?  who cares, it is the quality of the man that is giving it to you that counts, the quality of his devotion to you and you life together.

Sorry ,but people tend to get caught up in these superficial things ring, dress, flowers, cake..............they wont save you in 5,10,20 years.

Just appreciate him and nurture your relationship for the future. Good luck.

  6. I'm with the first person who responded that engagement rings have become this materialistic monster when they should be a symbol of love.  However, that doesn't quite answer your question, does it?

The price depends on a lot of things.

E-is the second clearest diamond type.

It's an I1, however, and that means that damages are visible to the naked eye--and so a diamond that would normally cost you a few thousand, will cost you a lot less.  Depending on the setting (is it an elaborate setting?  lots of small diamonds?  Side settings? or a solitaire?), that's a really great price.

I, personally, went with an aquamarine stone for a number of reasons ranging from not buying into jewelers telling me that diamonds are a must to the problems in Africa and not being able to, in good conscience, purchase a diamond.

Just remember--whatever your ring is, it is not a measure of how much your fiance loves you.  The fact that you got any ring is the measure of that love.  My ring could have been elastic and I still would have said yes.

    Congratulations on your engagement!

  7. Are you happy with the ring?  If you are unhappy or doubting the quality of the ring, you may want to check out diamond evaluation on GIA's site (See below).  Do not make an issue out of this with your fiance unless you want to return the ring for another one.  There are several issues here:  What can your fiance afford?  What are your expectations?  These issues will set the tone of your marriage, so tread lightly.  Best wishes, dear.  Isabella

  8. If you are really want to compare prices check out bluenile.com.

You can find a matching diamond and see how much it is priced there.  But keep in mind bluenile.com has much better prices than a chain store like zales.
