Engine Misfire? 1988 Bmw 325i?

I think my 1988 BMW 325i may have an engine misfire due to fuel problems. The spark plugs and wires are new Bosch. I really dont think it is an electrical problem. There is NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. Just wanted some opinions, here are the symptoms and what I think may be causing them. I think I should check the fuel pressure at the rail, and for fuel leaks in the hoses and lines. What do you think?

- Rough Idle and Hesitation... misfire due to fuel problem?

- High Idle... IAC valve raising rpms to compensate for misfire?

- Gas Smell inside car... Fuel Leak, Fuel Filter, Fuel Sender Unit?

- Bad Mileage (should be mid 20's but is at low teens)... Fuel Leak?

- Low Injector Pressure... Fuel Leak?

  1. Check your dist cap and rotor if your fuel pressure is good.

  2. When having problems like this the first thing you do is check the fuel pressure always probably to high.  Also it may have a bad computer's temp sensor.  Usually unplugging it while its running can tell you something.  You know I can't remember if the 88 3 series has a check engine light.  I don't like 3 series..
