  1. In the last decade..past 10 years, The Sri Lankans performed better than the England.

English lack consistency inspite of being talented.

  2. Hmm. When was the last time England actually won an ODI seres VS SL.

Currently in SL of course. Overall, SL is slightly better side or better team VS England. My favorite was 2006. A masterpice of SL.

SL VS England against each other:

No English batsman has an individual high scorer than a SL batsman.

No English cricketer has a great highest partenership than SL batsman.

No English bowler has taken most ODI wickets than a SL.

No English batsman has scored higher than a SL batsman in ODIs or Test matches.

No English batsman has most runs in a series between SL & England than a SL batsman.

No English fielder has the most catches than a SL.

Overall: England never gave SL a brutal white wash series than SL of 2006.

Either way, how u see it.

Both teams played great cricket matches since 1982.

  3. There is nothing much to seperate both the teams as far as strength is concerned.  The performance of both the teams depend where the match is played.  While Sri Lanka will have upper hand if the matches are played in Sri Lanka and sub-continents, England will have upper hand if the matches are played in England and other parts of the world where the pitches are fast and bouncy.

  4. You all say England, but I say Sri Lanks. Sure they have ups and downs but I think they will still win.

  5. At the moment England.

At the moment England looks better, ONLY because Sri Lanka is at their worst form and England is doing well.

  6. At present they are about par.

I think the position will shift in the next two or three years. Sri Lanka are very dependant on Jayawardene and Sangakarra for their runs, and Vaas and (especially) Muralitharan for their wickets. Take those players out of the equation, and they look a very ordinary team. Players such as Atapattu, Ranatunga, Tillekeratne, De Silve, and now Jayasuriya have never been adequately replaced. The talent coming through does not look as good. England have a lot of players of the right age who will form into a good team over the next couple of years. This may change if England keep signing Kolpaks and other overseas "stars" (Steve Magoffin: who he?), instead of playing young English players.

So overall England and Sri Lanka are probably roughly on a par at present, but England have a brighter future.

  7. SRI LANKA WILL BE THE BETTER SIDE IN THE FUTURE

Sri Lanka, i know there gonna pull through, they've got excellent players. They've just lost a bit of their confidence, they'll get it back.

ENGLAND ARE THE BETTER SIDE RIGHT NOW.

England are a great team but their not really a threat in my opinion.

  8. heck it has 2 be england

  9. Sri Lanka rely on murili to take the wickets, when he's gone who will be there?

  10. i think England vs Sri  Lanka England will  win

  11. Hopefully both will show great improvement. It's just 'not cricket' without a good strong England side!

  12. Put Flintoff back in that england team and maybe teach a few of the guys how to ground field and england could be a top contender again. Also that negative batting attitude has to go in the burner

Sri lanka are struggling a bit at the moment but they have a lot of talented batsman and murali has a fews year in him yet so they can never be counted out

  13. Sri Lanka I am sorry to say is not at the best these days.

    So it is England .

  14. Currently England

    But future is unpredictable

    So 50/50

  15. sri lanka

  16. England is better. Playing well .

SL is not in form. At a point it looked good in WI, but they could not cope. And WI is not a great team either.

  17. i think england team looks more balanced and good. england must do better in the future.

  18. They are about the same strength. The thing England has though is that, at some point, everyone plays their part, whereas with Sri Lanka, they are much more dependent of a select few to perform - Vaas, Murali, Jayawardene and Sangakkara. Take them out and they would struggle to compete. If Sri Lanka can get through some more players like these then they may have the better future, else when those 4 retire, they will have problems and England will do much better.
