It is speculated that Robinson will 'resign' and be replaced by Martin Johnson. Will they then be an unknown quantity in the Six Nations Championship? Will Ireland still be favourites?

  1. now that AR has gone, a little bit better than 24 hours ago, but they are still favourites for the wooden spoon with Italy, just hope Italy do not have  it again!

Bring in the Pumas and make it a fab 7 nations I say!

  2. None. They are useless

  3. Ireland to win six nations. With home games against France and England to be played in Croke Park, Dublin, circa 85,000 capacity they should win. Croke park has so much history in gaelic sport and i would imagine that the Irish team will be playing with far greater emotion and support given the history. Ireland not only for the six nations but also the grand slam.

  4. Well they've come 4th for the past two years and seem to be getting worse... but you can't always tell what'll happen.  One good result could give them confidence.  Ireland are definitely the favourites, though, followed by France and Wales.

  5. france will win ireland second england might get wooden spoon the will struggle to beat the italians.

england have no pack they all lightwieght the backs have no flair and are to error strewn to compete

  6. yes they will be an unknown quality ...bit not in a good way!  ireland to win, scotland to beat england [again]:o)

  7. i agree.

although i believe that rugby is a sado-masochistic activity enjoyed by closet bum boys.

  8. Not sure Johnson is the best choice for coach, I'd love him to be involved definitely, but he's not had any coaching experience, what about Deano?

I don't think we'll win, or actually be anywhere near to winning.  Toss up between France and Ireland I think.

On the other hand, it can't get any worse can it?

  9. If a new coach is appointed, the priorities should be to establish a World Cup squad; a new Captain; and a starting XV for the World Cup.

Winning the 6 nations should be a secondary goal. Right now, the new coach should concentrate on building up the squad.

Based on Ireland's autumn tests, they are definitely looking favourites for the 6 nations and should stand a good chance in the WC.

  10. I'm afraid to say that England will be mid-table. Fav's must be Ireland or France. Italy, Scotland and Wales all have a chance of beating England too but lets hope not.

Come on England, you can get your old form back.

  11. Ireland have to be favourites, although it will be a much closer contest this time around with away wins being extremely important.

  12. To be honest i think it will be between Ireland and France in the final, and maybe England in third but it will be a tight one between Wales and England....Italy Don't look good though they did do good against the Aussies!

  13. Ireland must start as favorites with England in a play off for the wooden spoon with Italy

  14. For me it is going to be between Ireland and France for the crown, with England fighting for 3rd with Wales, Scotland being ran close for 5th with Italy.

  15. i wouldn't care to speculate... I am pleased the Martin Johnson is being considered for the 'yet' unvacent role...

its time for Robison to go... but in fairness, it has been for nearly 6 months now...

I think English rugby has hit a bit of a stale patch... we've been very weak compared to our world cup team since the win.

We wont win it i dont think... even with new management... but we should be looking for a better squad a tactics from Johnson.

  16. Ireland will not win, they are playing at crooke park - the surface is terribly hard for rugby, and the Irish cannot afford that many injuries.

Wales have a great record against France and Ireland (who they have at home), they will beat England and Italy also.

Think it's wales year again in 2007.

    Wales

    Ireland

    France

    Scotland

    England

    Italy..

  17. I think Ireland will win

  18. You better hope that Robinson resigns or gets the sack before then, because if he doesn't I think you will be competing for the wooden spoon with the Tallies!

You talk about Martin Johnson being named as the new England Head Coach, but would it be wise to put your national team in the hands of someone who has no coaching experience whatsoever.  Martin Johnson was certainly an inspirational captain of the World Cup winning side, but coaching is a whole different ball game.

I'm sorry for you, I think we could see a rare Scotland victory at Twickers this season!  And yes, I think Ireland are still red hot favourites to win the Six Nations next year.  They may even do the Grand Slam!
