Is it worth england turning up for the game against france,we have so many players looking like they might not play i fear another big thumping coming!!!!

Before all the injuries being picked up over the weekend i thought we might be able to hold this great french team off but now i`m sure we will get thumped and france will go on to win the six nations

  1. Even with a full strength side the english would struggle to beat the french.

The french are a much better outfit and i can only see one result

  2. I don't thing so we might win the match and we might lose the match but it all depends on the players on england to win the match.

  3. The whole 6 Nations Championship has been so unpredictable this year and no result is certain. Ireland beat Wales, barely and hammered England. Scotland beat Wales and were hammered by Italy. France were none too impressive against the Italians and all matches this weekend could go either way. England have home advantage and should have learned a lot about how to play the French by examining their previous 3 matches. Beat them in the lineout and hold them in the scrum and there's an excellent chance that they'll get a good result. The home crowd will have to get behind their team though and make use of the excellent stadium that is Twickenham!

  4. Sadly, I'd agree we will get beaten, but I think we would of done even with all players active. The team is not really playing as a team enough to challenge the experiance of what is a fairly established French side.

  5. As an Irish fan I really hope england beat france....it doesnt seem likely but maybe they can pull it together and beat them...they will need to support at twickinem though...

  6. It will be tough the confidence of the French will be high.

England at the moment are still trying to work out their best tactics because we are unsure who our best players are.

By that I mean we have a lot of players with good skills but at International level you need a different mental attitude, or a real leader who can hold that attitude throughout the team.

It would be easy to blame subsequent captains but it just shows you what a significant player Martin Johnson was.

The most important thing at the moment is that we use the 6 Nations to work out a few things before the World cup starts.

So yes we should turn up, and risk a thumping. It is up to the players to say 'No' and then put in performances beyond individual expectations. We may still lose but not necessarily badly.

It is also possible we could win, we have to select the right tactics to limit the effectiveness of the French pack. We must stop them getting quality ball early. I expect England to play more of a territorial game and do more kicking to touch. The key then will be our ability to spoil at the French line out. We are the underdogs so maybe that will make our players respond.

  7. I don't think the margin of defeat will be as big. I think the where the first games were encouraging we have lost that original momentum. the reserve players are also a talented bunch but a lot more time is required as a team before any really good performances. I don't now where you live but Joe worsley writes short reports for the metro newspaper (also online) and he echo's that.

  8. It is going to be a tough hard match, France going for the Grand Slam and England trying to regain some pride.

It would be nice to think yes we could beat them, but lets face it more than likely will be a defeat.

  9. As a Welshman I never thought I'd say this but..I hope England beat them.

  10. France have it in the bag. Still the world cup may throw up a surprise or two.

  11. It really, really, really pains me to say this as an Irishman but....................here it comes...................................... i hope england win(as we may then have a chance of the championship)!

Jesus that was'nt actually that bad, i wont type it again just in case a hole opens up under my chair and swollows me whole! But yeah england have to restore some pride, and i reckon the french will be in for somewhat of a shock, but unfortunatley, i'd say the french will win by about 9, good luck anyhow.
