English Premier League: Liverpool Transfer Gossip
Liverpool to Bring Drenthe from Madrid
Liverpool have contacted Spanish giants Real Madrid about signing Roysten Drenthe (Dutch midfielder) in the summer transfer window. Sources reveal that Liverpool have shown considerable interest in the midfielder and are serious about bringing the player
to Anfield next summer.
The 23 year old Dutch player is currently loaned out to Hercules Alicante, and has a reported efficiency ratio of a goal or assist every 477.0 minutes. He is known for his ability to cover the entire left wing, either as a full back, in midfield or even
as a forward.
He is valued at €5 million, which would be affordable for the Reds. The youngster is fast paced and has exceptional dribbling skills. However he needs to work on his shooting and discipline as a defender. All in all, he would make a good signing for Liverpool.
Liverpool Continue Interest in Eden Hazard
Liverpool have reportedly resumed their interest in Lille’s 19 year old midfielder, Eden Hazard. Liverpool ambassador Kenny Dalglish attended the fixture against Levski Sofia in the UEFA Europa League to watch the youngster last week.
The Liverpool must have liked what he saw because the club has resumed interest in the player and are desperate to bring him to Liverpool. Other big clubs like Barcelona, Real Madrid, Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United have their sights on the player
as well.
Hazard has an efficiency ratio of a goal or assists every 344.5 minutes this season and is valued at around €10 million – 15 million. However the player is contracted to Lille until the end of the 2013 – 2014 season therefore it is after that period that
he will decide his future.
Mario Gomez On His Way To Liverpool?
Reports revealed that Bayern Munich are considering selling Mario Gomez to Liverpool to help collect funds which would help them purchase the overpriced Bosnian striker Edin Dzeko. Dzeko is valued at around £40 million and his contract with Wolfsburg expires
at the end of the 2012 – 2013 season.
Manchester City were interested in the striker too, but despite their wealthy owners City refused to pay the £40 million demanded by Wolfsburg. He has recently been linked with Juventus FC Torino and has an efficiency rating of a goal or assist every 135
minutes this season.
