  1. I never actually read Macbeth, but I did perform it. Sooo.  Um in Macbeth one of the major themes is the struggle and craving for power.  Macbeth becomes obsessed with the prospect of ruling over people after he hears the witches' prediction.  This desire for power eventually is his down fall.  Macbeth is considered this strong, masculine character, but he is actually quite weak.  Lady Macbeth definitely wears the pants in the relationship.  She is the one who tells him to kill Duncan.  She is his brains in the play.  Once Macbeth gets all this power he doesn't really know what to do with it, because he never deserved it.  And as the quote states he is "unsatisfied."  All Macbeth wanted to do was have control over his people, when he should of been worrying about having control over himself.

I hope that made sense.  It was my school's play in the fall of '06, so it's been a little.

  2. It relates to Macbeth in that Macbeth was ambitious to rule but once he got to be king he didn't control himself and he wasn't satisfied with any of his achievements, he was always worried about someone trying to take over.
