If someone is eating and you want to ask if they are finished from eating, how do you say it??? Do you say are you finished? have you finished? did you finish? what do you say?

  2. all of those are correct, but "have you finished" is the most polite.

  3. ....wait until they stop eating for a minute or 2, then ask, Are you finished...don't ask are you done?  it's a grammar thing

  4. In America, it's when the plate is empty :)  

  5. At a restaurant with friends I usually ask..."so, Are you ready" as in ready to go.

  6. In the south they would say "jeet yet?"

  9. I'm really sorry. But if they're "eating" then they're obviously not done... instead ask... When are you going to finish? Is it going to take long?

    Or heck, simply tell them "stop eating!"
