Engraving on stainless steel.?

I'm thinking about getting my boyfriend a watch for his birhday but I want to engrave something on the back but what kind of materials can you get engraved. I've found one I like and it's stainless steel, can you engrave stuff on that and i so how much would it roughly cost (UK).

Most of the jewelry store do it for free. When you buy the watch ask where you purchased the watch.;)))))

Jewelers will do it or you can go to an engraver.  I would opt for the jeweler if you bought the watch from one, as they may waive the fee.
