I have questions about enlisting.

1. What are the minimum requirements to enlist? I know that I must be at least 17.

2. Is the ASVAB hard? What will it cover? Do I take it in high school?

3. How long is Basic Combat Training in weeks?

4. What are the requirements to be a tanker? I wanted to a gunner. The one who fire the main gun.

5. How much is the pay?

  1. Hey. I am joining the Army if the doctor says that my tourette's syndrome is gone, so I have been very active with my recruiters. I hope this helps you.

The Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) is a test that measures a person's potential in given fields based on a person's strengths and weaknesses. For enlistment, the test allows the Army to match these to all of its specialties in the Army and Army Reserve. The

scores are used to determine career paths and incentives. You can see what it is like by visiting the site below or your local library.

The minimum requirements of the Army are: You must be 17 years old but have not reached 42 years old prior to enlistment into the Regular Army or Army Reserve. If you are 40 years

old and have not reached your 42nd birthday, you must have an over 40 medical physical completed prior to enlistment. All prior service

applicants must be able to retire by the age of 62. Must be a U.S. citizen or resident alien, (must have the I-551) have a high school

diploma or equivalent, be single with no children or married with 2 or less children, pass the ASVAB test and the medical physical.  You cannot be undergoing any civil actions; certain law violations will disqualify you.

    BCT is nine-weeks.

Visit www.goarmy.com for all this info and more. When you get to the site, make an account and use the Army Career Explorer. It will give you a mini ASVAB test and tell you how you did. From there it will tell you your available jobs in the Army, based on all the personal info that you gave it. Than, I suggest that you check out the 'Chat With a Recruiter' section. It will put you into a chat room with live Army recruiters. On the website you can find out exactly how much the pay is. If you need anymore help, send me an E-Mail at Josh36089@yahoo.com

  2. 1. You must have a high school diploma or GED and pass the ASVAB, for the Army is its 31/99. Yes you must be 17 but only with your parents' consent.

    2. Depends. I found the ASVAB quite easy. It is like a miniature SAT covering Math, Vocab, Reading, Mechanics, Science and Motion

    3. It depends what MOS you want/get. Typically it is 9 weeks. But you must complete AIT too

    4. Ask recruiter

    5. Depends on rank/job and years in

  3. Go to a recruiting office and ask. There should be one near where you live. Ask you guidance councilor at school. I know you can see the pay chart on the internet (navy, army, air force's websites).

  4. 1. Be in decent shape.

    2. Everything from auto mechaninc stuff to science

    4.  Talk to your recruiter.

    5. ok

Even if you get an armor contract youll probally just be mechanized infantry if you get deployed.

  5. TALK TO A RECRUITER

  6. 17 years of age with consent of parent I believe and you got to pass the medical/asvab,  ASVAB is easy, simple honestly don't worry about it its really built for idiots,

google military pay charts, every service has the same pay just depends on rank

and make sure you look at ALL services, I'm in the marine corp so of course im a bit biased but make sure you check out the opportunities in each branch

  7. a gunner huh, if you got to see combat, thats the last thing you want to be.
