can somebody explain the difference between those two?

  1. Economic development is promoting the expansion and growth of business in an area.

    Environmentalism encompasses planning and implementation of policies that affect aspects of natural resources and management.

    Often the two don't agree.

    If you want to develop a LNG gas station on a harbor, environmentalists will protest. But, the economic developers are looking for how to build jobs, transportation, etc. to allow a project to go forward.


  2. Economic development champions the growth of industry and business in order to create economic growth to improve the standard of living in countries. Economic development generally stands against environmentalism and does not improve the state of the environoment but makes it worse. Economic development focuses of the production of new things to benefit humanity.

    Environmentalism wants to place limits on certain things indurstry and business do in order to bring back the world to a more natural state. Environmentalism generally stands against economic development of industry and ultimately does not improve the standard of living in countries but makes it worse. Envionmentalism focuses on new legislation or political activism in order to benefit animals and nature.
