Question:

Escalade Subwoofers?

Hey, i have a bose system with 4 6.75" speakers and a small subwoofer in my car right now, and the bass goes through all of them. Im afraid this might damage the speakers, and want to upgrade to a new subwoofer system. Would this take some of the bass off the component speakers? Im looking at 2 12"s in a sealed box each getting about 150W RMS with a matching amp, and don't know how much louder this would be, and if its worth it. The deck and door speakers I'll leave alone since they sound awesome. What's your guys' opinion?

  1. Try going to a car audio place, they have no problem taking some time to go through your car and answering any questions. The thing is...if you add the woofers will they drown out the speakers? It's just disappointing when you invest money in woofers and find out your speakers can't keep up and have to replace those, and then buy an amp to power those, and install all of this...A car audio place will hear your car out and recommend what is best suited. Personally I might go with just one 12 inch. Oh and it depends on the kind of music you listen to, for rock a smaller woofer is better, and rap...the bigger the better.
