  1. It is not that great. A little bland. In Los Angeles just go to little Ethiopia.

  2. yes, Ethiopian food is the BEST!

I personally recommend doro wot (chicken curry) and order 'alicha' if u do not like spicy foods.

    Another favorite is Kitfo

If u r a vegetarian then there are also a lot of vegi choices - gomen is my favorite

    Hope u enjoy it!

  3. what's the name of the food?

  4. i love it.  you typically eat with your hands by scooping other food onto ethiopian bread, which is called injera.  i'm vegetarian, so i'm most familiar with the collard green, potato, and lentil dishes...there are both spicy and mild versions of the lentils...and there are also meat options at every e. restaurant i've ever seen.

if you like the food, be careful not to overindulge -- injera expands in your stomach, so you won't immediately know how full you are.

  5. i went to an Ethiopian restaurant with my b-f and it was really good. they bring you these pancake looking things and you use them to eat with your hands. they have a lot of flavor and some spice.... definately not your reguler meat and potatoes, but still,   very, very good... :)  enjoy!!

  6. woooo I can't even explain to you how much I love Ethiopian food especially my moms Kitfo and Kocho ....A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!!!

  7. I had Ethiopian food years ago, I wasn't thrilled with it.  It had a 'curry' flavor to it, didn't rock my world.

  8. Doro Wat- Chicken stew and Tibs (beef) with Injera the pancake like bread. They also made a homemade cottage cheese that is sometimes mixed with collard greens-Wow! I am really hungry now. I will need to grab my Ethiopian cookbook and start dinner.

  9. XLNT!! Ask for their specialty at the restaurant and make sure you only eat with your right hand otherwise you're being rude in their culture. No cutlery - just bread to scoop up your food.

You can get one of those platters that has an assortment of foods so you get a variety of dishes.

    Enjoy your dinner.

  10. mmm i loved it, especially the bread "injera"....dont eat that if you dont like sour food tho, lol...also a warning about injera: its rly spongy...you could eat a TON of it, and if you like it you will, but then it seems to like explode in your stomach or something cuz u get SOOOOOOOOOO FULL!!! eeeek. =/

but overall the food is good, i cant remember anything except the bread! =)
