Evolution and Movement?

Hey Everyone, I am trying to figure out an example of where the lack of movement due to inability or (hopefully this second reason) because of advancement (cars, etc) caused the body of humans or any animals to change. I am doing a funny little paper about what can go wrong if you are a "couch potato." No stupid answers PLEASE!!

  1. Evolution and movement!!!!?????.... do you mean a movement group which indulge about the Evolution its disruptions and wrong concept....

Evolution is always carried by time and as the world will go on and on, evolution is at its back bone..... still some species will still evolve.... like viruses, germs and killer diseases just like the thrend of machines and cars that you have mentioned.

  2. The development of agriculture caused people to stay in one place to make their home. Towns and cities grew up, and people stopped moving because they no longer needed to. There really hasn't been enough time to evolve per se since then, but we certainly have become better nourished, so we're taller and fatter.

  3. Yep not nearly enough time for us to evolve since technology came in, sorry. But certainly modern life has made us weaker, fatter, with less endurance, more lifestyle diseases (type 2 diabetes, heart disease, etc).

  4. some lizards from 60 million years ago became birds, whilst others became extinct -- but if it was a lack of movement that made all the difference, i'm not sure
