  1. The previous answers are correct but if you're a beginner they might not be clear. You might even need both answers depending on the Length of the text.

Type the data into the cell you want. Then from the top menus choose Format, then Cells. Go to the Alignment tab and check the box that says Wrap Text.

If your text was longer than the cell, it should now break at a space between words and create a second line of text. However, it may or may not have increased the row height to allow you to clearly read the text.It usually does but if not, move your cursor to the row numbers until it changes to a black line with an arrow pointing up and one down. This must be on the line between the row you are changing and the next one down. Double clicking will now automatically adjust the row height for you but again, based on your text, it might not be what you want. You can also manually drag the row height where you want and drag the column width too if necessary.

If your text is not long enough, it may not break into two lines even after setting word wrap. In that case you can drag the column width tighter until some words move down, or you can go to where you want the words broken and use alt-enter to force a line break.

    I hope this helps

  2. Format Cells Alignment Wrap

  3. Both Sandy and Sarah gave good answers!

  4. Either format the cells to allow word wrap, or, press ALT+ENTER at the same time to create a line return between the two words.
