Excited as always – Jenson Button
Jenson Button is excited as always before every grand prix. This is getting quite monotonous as Jenson always states before every race that he is excited about the race. Why does he do it, no one knows. Maybe he feels that he is not getting enough attention
even though he is the world champion or maybe because of the fact that he is not getting enough attention as compared to his teammate Lewis Hamilton.
Let’s face it; both of the drivers have illustrious girl friends. What is this sport leading to anyway? One has to admit, McLaren is a British team, with two British drivers, who have famous girl friends and receive the most media attention. Lewis Hamilton
has been overly aggressive while his teammate Jenson Button has been a bit too safe.
The team has been sloppy since the past five races and it is about time that they realize that they need to step it up if they want to win the title, not the “fame game”.
Yes, the Korean Grand prix will be inaugurated this year and Jenson is excited about it as he believes that the championship battle will go down to the wire there.
After so many months of speculation regarding whether the race in Korea should even take place or not, Charlie Whiting gave the circuit the green light at the start of this week.
“It's always exciting visiting a new circuit for the first time. The Korean track certainly looks very interesting - a real mix of different characteristics - and there appear to be a couple of very likely opportunities for overtaking, particularly at the
end of the three main straights,” said Button.
However, the track is possibly off-line in the twisty final sector so McLaren will have to be careful about it. The track looks like a high-speed circuit with the walls very close so it will be an interesting challenge for the drivers.
With the final layer of tarmac only recently laid on the track, there are still some worries that the circuit could deteriorate over the course of this coming weekend. In addition, Button admits there are still some concerns regarding this track but he is
sure this weekend will be a success for his team and for the FIA.
“As with any new circuit, it looks like it might throw up a few unexpected issues - not necessarily on the racetrack itself, but I'm sure the teams and drivers will work together with the organisers to make sure the event is a complete success,” he added.
This has been quite a controversial decision as the FIA has been very sloppy and unprofessional about this decision. According to the rules of the FIA, a track must be approved at least 3 months before the race takes place. One can blame Bernie Ecclestone
for this delay as he has been so busy deciding what is going to happen in 2012 and 2014 rather than this year. Bernie has been acting very childish and at times, it seems that he is not even thinking what he is saying. With 20 races lined up for next year,
he is hoping of introducing even more venues for Formula 1 keeping in mind he clearly stated that the Formula 1 calendar will not contain more than 20 races in a year.
Meanwhile, this year, Jenson, the current world champion is still keeping his hopes high for his championship this year even though his chances seem quite bleak now as compared to his rivals.
“We've made some improvements to the parts we tested in Suzuka, and it's looking likely that we'll run the new parts on Friday in Korea. As with all our upgrades, we are pushing the envelope,” said the reigning world champion.
Jenson hopes that his team will bring some new upgrades to the track in order to improve their car’s performance.
