Question:

Expandable Hamster cages?

I'm buying my neighbor a new hamster cage for christmas, for her Syrian to live in, and I'm thinking of going with the Crittertrail/Habitrail systems. I don't want Rotastak, because I've been told you can't connect them up with the other systems. Which systems DO connect? Is it true that all Habitrail and Crittertrail systems are connectable with each other? What cages do you recommend? Ae the Habitrail Ovo Suites good? They need to be expandable; I'm going to buy her another for her birthday next April, I think. :p.

  1. Don't get the habitrail if you like to pick up the hamster a lot.  It may get used to retreating to the tubes and become anti-social.

  2. Yes that is true they do connect and habitrial is one of the best cage types you should deff check out my website and click on the page link that says col cages and there are like so many cool cages (if she has a girl i would go with the pink one! heres my my site link :http://my-ham-dolce.piczo.com/?cr=2

  3. Habitrail Ovo Suites are ah-mazing! I have the suite with a maze add on and another pad attached. They wont retreat to the tubes, I know from experience. It is so easy to pick them up because the door opens very wide. Small animals love to hide in the hide away behind the wheel. Many people complain about the wheel falling off, but I think it is because they don't turn the pin; I have had no problems with the wheel falling off, don't worry! Anyway, Habitrail Ovo products connect to ALL other Habitrail products, like the playground and space station. Habitrail is great!

    Good luck!

  4. I personally like Rotastack and had A LOT of it for two previous hamsters (both gone now). The connecting pipes meant I could create some wired and wonderful cage designs as I had a mix of straight, elbow, curved, etc and you can add onto it forever!

I do like the Ovo stuff though I've seen recently, looks very modern.

  5. Yes, Any cage that is connectable with tubes are connectable to anything else. the only problem might be not enough space to put the big cage, or the hamster might chew on the tubes. just make sure they have enough chew toyys to give their hamster! a really good looking hamster cage is crittertrail 3.
