Expired Gatorade?

I just bought a Gatorade Rain from the store and it looks like it expired Feb 2008

Don't tell me to take it back to the store i just want to know if it is okay to drink?

I drank some that had been expired for years.  I couldn't tell the difference.  As long as the bottle is tightly sealed it is OK.

As long as it is stored without excessive heat, Gatorade will last practically indefinitely.

No danger.

Dates on items like that are used for various reasons. One is to help stores and merchandisers rotate stock through. Two is to keep it from tasting stale if it's there for too long (personally I've used Gatorade over two years after the date and haven't noticed any change in flavor).

The third reason is maybe a little more serious, but not really in the case of an item like Gatorade. They may be referring to the potency of the electrolytes in the drink. Like drugs in the pharmacy. What you'll find with Gatorade, though, is that the potency might only degrade .001% a year so it really doesn't matter.

Gatorade's website indicates the shelf life is based solely for flavor and is 9 months. No reference is made to degredation on sealed bottles.

Drink up and don't worry about it!

its ok if gatorade, coke, sprite or whatever's expired they just say that for no reason to make you throw it away just cause your not drinking it, i drank a capri sun from like last year and i was ok

At least call the store.  I don't know how Gatorade Codes work.

But are you sure that Feb 2008 date is the "sell by" date or the date is was made.  If it's the date it was bottled it will be fine.
