Exposure to Formaldehyde in laboratory?

I work in a pathology lab where there is constant (high) exposure to formaldyhyde. Recently my lungs start to ache after 8 hours of working. What tests/examinations can doctors perform to see if there is any lung/nasal damage?

SEE A DOCTOR. Formaldehyde IS toxic. I personally know someone who had to take medical leave after a small amount of exposure (though this was not through inhalation).

Formaldehyde may cause watery eyes, headaches, a burning sensation in the throat, and difficulty breathing, as well as triggering or aggravating asthma symptoms.

Basically it can poison you, but in the amounts your taking in it probably won't seriously harm you right away (it does cause cancer after time). But seeing as you're having lung pain, I would definitely consult a doctor.

isnt formaldehyde just a preservative for dead bodies? i didnt think it was toxic
