Question:

Extending Dishwasher Supply Lines?

by  |  earlier

I need to install a dishwasher further than 6 feet from the sink connector. The supply lines I see are only 6 feet. Are their longer supply lines or can I extend a six feet supply line or connect two together? Need at least 7 feet.

  1. Check hardware store they have couplings to help you put 2 hoses together.GOOD Luck.

  2. You should use Stainless steel braided supply lines to extend.   There's also a plumbers paste that is yellow for hi pressure joints plus teflon, you should use both, as it has worked for me too.

First apply ur teflon tape to the joint then the yellow paste over all the "tefloned" threads, makes a great seal.

Ur Lowes or Home depot with sell these Stainless steel braided lines.

  3. Try and split the line in between somewhere and use a copper pipe and some hose clamps to get the size you need. You may have to do the same for the drain too. Get some Pipe Hangers and hang your lines if you need.
