  1. hei it is all about you if your mind is pure you will get it all

  2. Fide is the world chess federation.  To compete in a fide tournament you will first need to join your nations chess federation, In the USA that would be the USCF "United States Chess Federation"

As a member of USCF ( or your nation's chess federation) you will be able to compete in their sponsored chess tournaments.  This will mean traveling to where the tournaments are held and playing in many tournaments until your chess rating is high enough so that you are invited to play in a fide event.  Since you live in a town with no chess club and traveling may be a problem for you I would suggest an alternative to fide.

The ICCF (International Correspondence Chess Federation) sponsors postal and email chess tournaments which you can play without leaving home.

If you enjoy fast chess "Blitz" you might try the fics "free internet chess server"

to just play or to compete in blitz tournaments they organize on line.

lastly you might look into starting a chess club in your town!  I know of clubs that have been organized to meet at book stores who have sit down café's, donut shops, Library's, schools and even a church.
