I want to go to Baruch College for this year's summer session, but the Fafsa application gives me to two time periods to file for:

The 2008-2009 School Year (July 1st, 2008 - June 30th, 2009)

or

The 2007-2008 School Year (July 1st, 2007 - June 30th, 2008)

Which applies to the summer session?

  1. This year is 2007-2008 Good luck

  2. At Georgia State University, even though it's in June 2- August 2 2008 for our summer session, they use the FAFSA for 2007-2008 for summer finaid award eligibility...

However! I still had to apply on our own school site an application for summer financial aid. It asked how many hours I was expecting, whether I wanted loans/grants/etc. I'd ask your school too..

  3. It depends on the school, it might be to late however.  Summer classes for my school start in May.  I filled out a 2008-2009 fafsa, and once I got the okay that I got my grants, I filled out a form at the school to split my grant for summer and fall then whats left over I can use for spring.

  4. Neither does. If the college doesn't specifically ask for the FAFSA information, do not file it. It's a separate financial aid package the ones for the school year.
