wat are soem famous race horses i know of Man 'O War , Seabiscuit , Big Brown(lost triple crown awhile ago so not that famous but could have become famous) , Red Rum and thats all wat are some other names?

Affirmed  was the last triple crown winner several others have won 2 of the 3.Big Brown was a tragic thing as was Barbaro in 2004 .Others winning all 3  were Seattle Slew in 77 and Secretariat in 73. the others were form like 1946 back I think War Admiral won it in the 30's . Hope this helped

Each has it's great story that made them famous.  Here are some of mine....

Secretariat...won the 1973 triple crown, breaking the records of the Derby and Belmont, and should have brokent he record of the Preakness if not for a timer malfunction

Seattle Slew....won the 1977 triple crown.  Bought for only $17,000 at Auction and named after a swamp by the owner home!

Affirmed...won the 1978 triple crown, beating a very good horse named Alydar in all three races.

Point Given...nicknamed...T Rex, he is a huge chestnut, who is the only horse to win 4 races with purses of over a million dollars, in a row.  He won the Preakness and Belmont.

Barbaro...Won the Derby, then broke down in the Preakness.  A valiant effort was made to save his life, the lessons learned from the efforts, have already been used to save the lives of other horses.

Smarty Jones....Won the Derby and Preakness before losing the Belmont by a length to birdstone.....was named after the nickname of the owners mother

Damascus......Dr.Fager.....Buckpasser.... Reality....Four great horses of the 1960's who raced against each other.  Dr Fager and Damascus raced each other 4 times, each winning two!

A.P. Indy and Storm Cat.....two great racehorses who went on to become the greatest Sires of this generation.  Storm Cat had a book written about him named "$tud", and recieved $500,000 per mating.

Native Dancer and Northern Dancer...two great racehorses who also where great sires.  Every horse running in this years Derby has One of these bloodlines in their pedigree.

Nearco.....this Italian horse influenced the bloodlines of more champions than any other horse....his grandsons included.....Northern Dancer, Bold Ruler (Secretariat's Sire), Turn-to, Red God, Nashrullah,

Tiznow....won the breeders Cup Classic twice, each time dualing with great European horses

Funny Cide....a Gelding who won the Derby and Preakness...he was owned by a bunch of high school friends won each pitched in some money and bought racehorses.  They rode to the Kentucky Derby in a bright Yellow school bus!  He went on to win over 3 and a 1/2 million dollars and is now retired and used by his trainer as a Pony horse!!.

Ruffian...a great fillie who won all of the races that she finished, never trailing at any point of call in any of them..Sadly she broke down and died in a match race against Kentucky Derby winner, Foolish Pleasure.

Personal Ensign...an undefeated fillie who beat the boys and then was also a great broodmare.  She was 13 for 13 racing.

The best thing for you to do is to go to www.youtube.com and do a search of the names that I have given....you will see some great horses and great races!
