This is actually for a picnic wedding - since it's rather hard to eat with a knife and fork on the ground I thought I would just have an evening meal of finger foods! I'll use a caterer so I don't need recipes just some super ideas so I can see what's good :D Also...if anyone can think of things that are more dinner finger things that would be good! :) Thanks a bunch!

  2. Large cut fruit salads with veggies included as well as an assortment of cheeses, breads, and fun crispy things. Bowls of nuts and you will want complimentary wines to go with the flavors, probably white wines. If the party runs late and the evening cools then you might try serving a hot wine (dry full bodied red is best) in mugs that have a sugared rim. I had this in Germany and I found it was fabulous, fun, and intoxicating (rapidly so watch the over-done stumbling few). Chilled seafood is great as long as it is kept properly chilled but the worst thing to serve is luke warm fish that should be deeply chilled.

  3. -hummus with carrot sticks

    -celery sticks with ranch dressing

    -tortilla chips with salsa

  4. How about little tarts with different fillings like sauteed mushrooms with thyme and cashew; roasted beetroot with cream cheese (or tofutti) and chives; pumpkin and black soybean; sweet potato and roasted red pepper and baby rocket (aragula); asparagus with walnut and garlic paste.

Vietnamese rice paper rolls are fantastic too - mixed vegies, tofu and coriander and glass noodles - yum!

Steamed buns (chinese yum cha style) with mixed vegetable, mushroom satay and bean fillings.

Tiny noodle boxes of pasta or stirfry or salads or fried rice or rice salad.

That's all I can think of for now :o)

  5. Veggies trays are always nice, maybe with hommus

    Vegetable dumplings

    Sushi!
