Question:

Fantasy Football. What receivers to take?

I am looking to take 2 receivers with my swing pick in the 3rd and 4th round, unless a good back is there, which I doubt. I play in a keeper league, and most of the good backs are already gone. I have done LOTS of research preparing for this year and here are the guys I think will possibly be there.

Please take some time and tell me how you would rank them, and why. Maybe you live in a city close to one of these teams and have an inside scoop. I'll list my thougths by each one to let you know where I stand currently on them.

Larry Fitzgerald- Had this guy last year and loved his consistancy, but wonder if he can repeat w/ a healthy Boldin

Marques Colston- Shockey could help take pressure off of him

Steve Smith- Can he regain old form? Delhomme still got it?

Andre Johnson- Love his upside, don't love his injury history and complimentary receivers

T.J. Houshmanzadah & Chad Johnson- Not sure which is better this year, and where they should rank with others

  1. i would atke andre  johnson due to the fact that   they still haven't proven they have a running game so he's the #1 on a team that needs to throw.  i would also take fitzgerald because he's on a team that loves to throw and has an average defense at best. with leinart at qb fitz is the guy. when warner is qb, then boldin becomes the man but it's leinart's job for now

  2. if ALL of those are still available (unlikely) than take Colston and Johnson. Id stay away from Steve Smith. Its tough though, TJ is really good and obviosuly Larry is good, but they have company with Chad J, and Anquan. Colston and Andre is my opinion

  3. Fitz is probably ranked the highest in mags and on the "experts" chart. i say that Arizona has too many question marks to put Fitz into the top 2 on this list.

i think Colston is #1 on this list. the expectations and hype for NO has died down, and i think he's a lock for 1,000 and 10 TDs (minimum).

Smith is a great player with a mediocre surrounding cast. too many uncertanties on that team. a fragile QB, an unstable running game, and a poor receiving corps to take pressure off of him.

    A. Johnson is a stud. injury history, but incredible flashes when he is healthy, and optimism over his repoire with Schaub. close call between him and...

Housh. has he gotten a new contract yet? if not, he'll be playing for one, and if he has one, i don't think expect a hangover. more catches, TDs, and confidence from his QB than 8-Cinco.

    so i'd go:

    1. Colston

    2. A. Johnson (just barely)

    3. Houshmandzadeh (i might bump up over A.J.)

    4. Fitzgerald

    5. C. Johnson

    6. S. Smith

    good luck

  4. Colston is in for a HUGE year with shockey helping to removed double teams.  Johnson, yes has injury history, but a higher upside then anyone available other then TO or moss.  Fitz, never pick a WR or RB after a monster contract...see shaun alexander circa 3 years ago.  Steve smith, I love this debate, old form...the guy had one great year and he is just riding that rep....plus, hus two worst statistcal seasons were opposite mushin muha...who is now starting opposite him again.  Housh and CJ are great and Ocho cinco could be a steal this year.
