  1. I would take Lewis.  It's a tough call but if you're ever having trouble deciding between two guys, default to who scored more points last year.  And that's Lewis by a wide margin.  You can either have a guy who is possibly an injury risk just because of his age, or you can have a guy who had one good year and has been an injury problem ever since.  Plus the O-line in Cleveland is one of the best and KC is one of the worst.

With either of them I would try to pick up a rookie like Mendenhall or Forte with a later pick to balance out the age/injury factor of Johnson or Lewis.

  2. LJ because before last years injury he was a top 3 fantasy performer. He has a revamped line and he is a beast

  3. I would pick LJ because LJ combines speed with power but Jamal Lewis is more speed than power.

  4. Whats up lilmatthew7,

That would be a tough decision because both players have their strong points.  LJ was a monster a couple of years ago, but KC's offensive line has struggled recently and Johnson's numbers have suffered because of it.  Lewis struggled a couple of years ago, but rebounded well in 2007.

Even with a bad offensive line, LJ was able to compile 12.1 fantasy points per game in 2007 (using the standard scoring system).  Of course, Johnson only played in 8 games because of an injury, but word is that he is back to 100% and looking great in camp.  12.1 points per game isn't too shabby.

Lewis is a RB who had struggled in recent years, but put together a great year in 2007.  Lewis tallied over 1300 yards and and 11TDs for the Browns and there is no reason to believe that he will regress in 2008.  Averaged out, Lewis put up 14.5 fantasy points per game in 2008, 5th among RBs behind Tomlinson, Peterson, Westbrook, and Addai.

I think in this situation you have to take the safe bet and the safe bet is Lewis.  He had a better year than LJ in 2007 and he isn't dealing with a recent injury.  You almost can't go wrong with Lewis in 2008.

I currently have Lewis ranked 10th and Johnson ranked 12th on my site.  If you click on the link in my source list, you'll see all of my RB rankings.  On my site you can also create your own player rankings using drag and drop.  It's free.

  5. Lewis.  LJ has not lived up to Hype and Cleveland has Much improved Off-line featuring Joe Thomas.

  6. tough call.  LJ should have a better year this year, but JL is playing on a team with a ball spread offense, that should take some of the defense off him.  LJ's team relies on him too much, which makes them one dimensional, so I would go with Lewis.

  7. LJ cuz hes better

  8. Larry Johnson because he has greater upside, greater potential. I would choose him because he should be better than Lewis. However, Lewis is pretty good. He rushed for 1200 yards last year and he plays for a better team.

  9. Larry was overworked. He will be again this year which could cause another injury.
