Farm animals?

I recently learned that I could get a farm animal if I wished to. I get to chose from these two pets: goats, and or a miniature horse. Can you tell me which one would be easier to care for, how much they cost (on average) and how is the owning experince. We have two acres of land, we will use atleast 1 acre and we have a small barn for shelter. The demensions are 12 feet X 10 feet. Please tell me any other additional details if possible. Thanks! (we are going to learn everything about them before we even think of buying one) We are just wondering if we would be able to house the pet on our property.

  1. goats are awsome pets and they don't cost near as much as a miniature horse to feed or buy!!!

  2. I own 4 goats and they are a real pleasure to own. they don't cost much if they have land to browse (they don't graze). I payed $20-$75 for each goat (they where different prices and the $20 was a rescue from the humane society) I don't feed them any goat food unless there isn't any grass or weeds around.

Of course a mini would be cool too, but they are more expensive. Which ever you get make sure that you do your research....

  3. um , goats would probally be easier, but i wuld pick a pony cause i luv horses!!!!!! <3

  4. Goats are much better pets. They cost about $100 to buy. Feeding is another $100 a month. You need to buy at least four or five though. The rule is five goats to an acre.

  5. Miniature horses require some different care than regular horses. The research idea is great, I would just stick with that.
