Question:

Fast food scaring children?

Is it just me or do like all fast food restaurants have terrifying mascots. Ronald McDonald is scary in itself. A lot of people are scared of clowns. The Burger King guy is creepy. He's always smiling that humungously annoying smile. I don't know about you, but I would be scared if I opened my blinds and saw that looking at me.

And my biggest thing is the Wendy's commercials.

That warm chicken, cold crunchy salad commercial is absolutely terrifying. All of those weird faces she makes, and especially at the very end like she looks like she's going to slaughter you.

I think they want to scare the children.

  1. woah,

    i never thought about that.

    youre right.

    haha.

it would scare the c**p out of me if i had to wake up next to ronald mcdonald every morning.

    lmao.

    && dont forget kfc.

that guy is pretty creeppy too.

    haha.

    yeah

    i agree.

    fast foods are scaring children

  2. LMAO Im dying over here, this is so funny.....and true

I've been scared of ronald for years. He kind of looks like a molester to me and the King has a big head and a creappppppppy smile. I have to look @ that Wendy's comercial again because I didn't notice her face, but I love the one when she says she only uses white meat in her chicken because she doesnt like grey areas in her meat and then she crosses her arms and shakes her head like an angry little girl. I think it is soooooo cute!!!  I think that, lil critter from the honey combs commercial is way scary too

(Ok, this is weird how much thought we just put into fast food mascots...........leaving the computer to do something productive lol)

  3. and your point is???

  4. I'd hope they scare children away, but apparently its not working very well. I think the Burger King guy is aimed more towards young adults because he has amusing commercials. The kids just have the crapload of toys they're always giving away in meals. Thats all they're interested in. That and fattening sugary food.

  5. I like your question, it made me laugh.  To answer it...  I never thought of fast food mascots as being scary... but I see where you're coming from.  I think what happens is the companies try to find something pleasing and friendly for children and they come up with a clown (known for being funny and clumsy and entertaining, more so in the past than present..), a little red-headed girl (another child to relate to), and a goofy looking king (comical).

  6. Lol, sooo funny and sooo true! But yeahh, fast food is bad for you, maybe they want kids to be scared to keep them healthy

  7. I think it is meant to bother the adults, the kids just want the fattening food, and the free toys, that are broke or lost in just a few days because the kids do not place any value to the toys, because they did not earn them, themselves.

  8. You think the mascots are scary?  What do you think the food is doing to kids?

  9. I don't think they're aiming to scare kids, but they may be. The Ronald McDonald clown does need a makeover and the Wendy's girl makes a lot of strange faces, but I like the Burger King "King." Some companies have reached children using more practical characters. Take the Vlasic bird for example..he's just a talking bird not a winking paint face in a yellow suit.

  10. true

    but lma0!!!

That funny s0rry but it is.

  11. If you think about it, most kids are afraid of Santa Claus when they are little.  The parent takes them to sit on his lap and they cry and are scared.

My daughter was scared to death of Mr Peanut when she saw him on a family vacation many years ago.

Anything big and unfamiliar is scary to a small child.  It is only when the parents tell the child who or what the person or mascot stands for, that the kid is OK.  If Mom and Dad and smiling, that will make a HUGE difference to the child.

The kids need the make believe.  It expands their imagination.

  12. lol - I never thought about it that way before but you are right.

  13. hahaha thats funnny

  14. I think fast food is pretty bad for children, and I would never feed that c**p to my kids.
