Fastest round of golf?

Question

what was the fastest round of golf on foot set by an individual.

ive been wanting to know this for a long time so i can go and try to beat it. please let me know and thks in advanced. also please give me a source if you can so i dont have to belive an ol golfer story.

i played 18 holes in 1 hour and 56 minutes with a speed cart

I don't think there are any sources which gather statistics for the fastest rounds of golf ever played.I do know that our pro was the final qualifier for the US Senior open a few years back. The pro who was to play with him decided to drop out so he played with a marker. Charlie played the first hole before the worker could reset the pin position . The worker had to step up his pace to finish new pin positions on the other 17 holes . Our pro finished 18 holes in 1 hour 55 minutes  walking on a 6750 yard course for his final round.

There are a group of golfers I read about in Golf Digest a few years back; in essence, they run rather than walk in between shots.  Their record is something like 50-55 minutes; they wore running shoes, only carried a few clubs, etc.

They were somewhat skilled golfers, but from the article (and this goes back a few years), it seemed like they were more interested in golf as a cardio training exercise than anything else.
